How the program works and what you can expect

Summer Interns are encouraged to think creatively, offer their input, and add value to the team from day one. Summer Interns will focus on real-life on the job learning, with colleagues serving as both instructors and mentors throughout the 10-week program. In addition, Summer Interns will participate in a series of social and educational events designed to complement the experience with valuable opportunities for further learning and networking. Each Summer Analyst will also have the opportunity to review their professional development and receive detailed feedback on their performance, both at mid-summer and at the end of summer.

What we look for in a candidate

Successful Jefferies Summer Interns will be able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. You should have a strong academic background and be in your penultimate year (completing the second year of a three-year program, or third year of a four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent program). Although a background in accounting or finance is helpful, we hire Summer Interns who have studied a variety of disciplines. Candidates must hold a valid work permit to work in Singapore.

EQUITIES

Jefferies’ Equities Division is a significant provider of liquidity, execution and underwriting expertise with over 750 Institutional Sales & Trading and Research professionals who focus on providing best in class trade execution, ideas and service to our clients. Summer Interns in the Equities Division will acquire the valuable experience in designated team such as Equities Sales, Sales Trading, Electronic Trading, Equity Finance, Facilitation & Execution Trading by working closely with seasoned professionals on assigned projects and tasks.

In Asia, Summer Interns will receive exposure to a firm with a significant and committed presence to the region. Jefferies services clients in the Asia Pacific region in 13 countries by way of 5 Jefferies offices (Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Singapore) and 8 co-branded partnerships (Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam).
