Team

The Bank Relations team consists of two individuals in New York, who are a part of the Global Treasury Team.  The NY Bank Relations team works very closely with the Network Management team in London, who has a dotted reporting line into the Global Head of Bank Relations & Network Management.  The Network Management team in London consists of two individuals within the International Treasury group.  There are two individuals in Hong Kong who make up the Asia Treasury Team.

Role

This person will be part of a dedicated NY Bank Relations team, responsible for managing and developing banking relationships across global markets. In line with the diverse markets and products in which Jefferies is present, external working relationships cover a broad range of banks, local custodians and/or agents.  Internally, the successful candidate will work extensively with Treasury, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Front Office Business Managers as well as other Corporate functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

Responsible for the management of bank and custodial relationships, including credit and operational services; approximately 40+ banking relationships and 1,000+ bank accounts (cash and securities)

Potential Tasks:

  • KYC/AML requests
  • Invoice payments via A/P
  • Due Diligence Questionnaires
  • Chasing agent banks on deliverables (account openings/closings); bank account monitoring
  • Updating contact lists
  • Collating Debit/Credit Rates
  • Filing Invoices
  • Fee and Volume data analysis
  • Basic email queries such as account information requests
  • Credit facility monitoring (i.e. tracking monthly fees, payment of invoices, etc.)
  • Assist with banking resolutions updates at the banks, name changes, etc.
  • Bank account setups in TwoFour, MT940 setups at banks, etc.
  • SmartStream Project - reaching out to custodians to add SST email to monthly invoices

  • Ability to consume and process a significant amount of information, assess the impact, then summarise and disseminate that information quickly and effectively to key internal stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as the role requires interaction with all levels of the organization; both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Understand the key business drivers, operational risks and efficiency expectations of a broker dealer
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and facilitation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Well organized, enthusiastic and pragmatic
  • Ability to effectively use Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Outlook
