What we look for in a candidate

Successful Analysts will be able to multi-task & manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. Although a background in accounting or finance is helpful, JFIN hires Analysts who have studied a variety of disciplines.

 

What you can expect

  • Summer Analysts will gain exposure to private credit underwriting, origination, and business development
  • Private Credit Underwriting: Analysts are staffed on teams of 3 to 5 members and are primarily responsible for (i) conducting company and industry due diligence and credit analysis on new debt financing opportunities, (ii) preparation of approval memoranda for internal credit approval processes, and (iii) assistance with execution of transactions and on-going portfolio management.
    • Analysts are generalists and will have exposure to deal flow in industries including, but not limited to, aerospace & defense, business services, consumer & retail, healthcare, industrials, media, technology and telecommunications.
  • Private Credit Origination: Analysts will support the Private Credit Origination team and work directly with senior team members on client research and marketing materials
  • Private Credit Business Development: Analysts will support the Private Credit Business Development team and work directly with senior team members on preparing fundraising presentations, communications with investors / limited partners, and investor requests
