Full-Time Analyst Programme Details

Our Research Analyst Programme provides a practical springboard for graduate students to develop skills and apply them in real business situations. The programme emphasizes on-the-job-learning backed up by training tailored to the skills most urgent to acquire, be that financial modelling and valuation or writing and presenting skills. We also ask our experienced staff to host regular internal training around the strengths that have led to their success in order to support your development.

The EMEA research department runs a mentor scheme for junior analysts, an Associate Council, a charity working party, alongside many firmwide employee resource groups that you can become involved in.

The key, though, is joining your sector team and immediately starting to help them meet their commercial goals as you set out on the work of a research analyst. Our research brand is serious, we seek to find differentiated information to be able to draw conclusions that challenge the stock market consensus and thus impact our client’s vision of the future for their investments. To do so requires hard graft, a real interest in the story that numbers can tell us, and an ability to articulate a complex conclusion or investment idea to a specialist and generalist audience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support team in meeting targets as set out in the analyst scorecard 
  • Support Senior Analysts in the provision of fundamental research, maintaining and deepening stock coverage
  • Demonstrate core skills of primary research: information gathering and analysis, modelling, writing 
  • Respond to analyst requests accurately and in a timely fashion 
  • Develop relationships with IR executives at corporates 
  • Update sales/trading on key news 
  • Respond to and follows up on internal and external client queries
  • Potential for stock and client coverage
  • Maintain up-to-date sector databases
  • Contribute to reports, presentations, and miscellaneous thematic pieces
  • Continually improve sector knowledge
  • Manage projects relating to marketing, collaboration, and desk optimisation
  • Regular attendance at Associate Stock Call and Training sessions
  • Responsibility for day-to-day management and development of direct reports
